Best friend quotes, or any idealistic quotes for that matter focus our mind on higher ideals. A desire to read and contemplate on thinkers higher than ourselves evidence a thirst for a better life, a fuller life, a more compassionate life, and more fulfilling life more worth living.
Why? Because quotes train our mind on higher values.
So? Our mind forms our life, by inspiring action and materializing our hopes and dreams. And God said, "Let there be light". And is there light. Light in the form of the sun's shine, which is a mere material dimension of the the higher light of wisdom.
God created the world through thought, empowered by faith through his knowing expression. God "saying" is God believing. We share the divine attribute for thought, on a much greater dimension than any other animal in our world, and potentially equivalent to any other creature in the universe. Though is our divine nature. It is our spiritual nature. Not just the thinking of the limited, but still awesome brain, but the divine wisdom which may gloriously attune our brain to higher ways of thinking, and therefore, living in both this material world, and the worlds beyond.
If you have a thought and you do not believe it can become a reality in the material world, you will not speak of it as being real. When you speak of it, or think of it as being real, it begins to take on form, hampered only by contrary beliefs. This is the creative power, and the first cause of all things material, created by God, and manipulated by humans throught into any condition we desire with disciplined believing.
Nothing happens without a thought of it. Thought is the cause of everything. Thought inspires action. But there is no action without the faith in an outcome. Disbelief cripples motivation, and nothing can be achieved. Thought, and faith in thought, then, is the cause of everything in your our lives. Either good, bad, or indifferent. Either your thoughts, or the thoughts of others to whom you have given proxy to determine your life by the failure of your disciplined thinking.
Observe your thoughts. Begin to choose your thoughts by encouraging and meditating on what you want, and dismissing the fears, anxieties, and the belief in what you don't want.
Where does fear come from? Your subconscious. You've been telling yourself a destructive story for so long, your subconscious mind believes it, and helps bring it about in obvious and mystical ways that are frightening. Turn that around. When you control your thinking and train yourself to think on what is good in life, your subconscious will come around. Your fear will be turned into hope, and your anxiety into joy. The subconcious is passive. It believes what you tell it to, what you believe.
Through effort and discipline you can control what you think about. The first step to to become aware of what you're thinking about. This may shock you. The negativity that you passively permit in your thinking process, your own microcosmic power of creation, may make you wonder how you have achieved any success and joy in your life at all.
